How often is housing benefit paid?

I was under the impression that my housing benefit would be paid into my bank today but it hasn't been. I was last paid 2 weeks worth on Mon. 7th April so I assumed i'd be paid again today. Does anyone know how often this is normally paid?

I was under the impression that it was every 4 weeks but don't quote me because I may be wrong.

Thanks. maybe it is. I'm a bit confused because I had a payment (my first) 2 weeks before the last one so I just thoguht it's every 2 weeks. But maybe it is every 4?

It get paid to me, not my landlord. OK i'll have to hope I get some on the 7th of May then. God that seems ages away!!!!Thanksx

Not correct. The claimant can choose whether to receive LHA/ HB themselves, or to have it paid directly to the landlord.

mine is every 4 weeks in arrears to my landlord but I ticked the box to do it that way...:D

I think i'd better phone the council tomorrow and ask...assuming I get to speak to a person, not a chimp....

Mine is paid in arrears every 2 weeks to me on a Wednesday. It doesnt cover the whole rent so I top it up with my DLA and then send the full rent on to the letting agency on the 8th of the month. Much easier that way IMO

Depends which council, BACS many do fortnightly but some are 4 weekly. Their website may tell you.
