Insurance, comparison sites and cashback
Options
I just used a comparison site to find the cheapest quote, it came to £145. Quidco do £45 cashback for that insurance company so I went through them to get another quote with the same details to save some more money.
Only I found that I was given a new quote of £195 and the minimum excess I could choose had gone up as well. It seems that insurance companies are offering generous cashback amounts, then just adding that to the cost of your policy so you're not really saving anything.
Also, it seems that using a comparison site instead of gettin a quote from the insurer directly will give you a reduced premium.
