Help finding decent bedroom pine furniture

Hi All :hello:
I hope this is in the right place, if not feel free to move it.
I am looking for some solid pine bedroom furniture for my daughter, we need it to last for many years. I quite like the Richmond Pine and Tarka Devonshire Pine. The budget is pretty tight and for the 11 drawer combination (d435mm W1190mm H960mm) and a combination wardrobe (d535mm w910mm h1790mm) it comes in at around £600. That's before you add delivery. Not very good when you are only taking home £112 a week maternity money.
It's been a while since I have bought any furniture so the price may be ok but I thought it was a little steep. Does anyone know where I can get any solid pine furniture similar to above for less money. It will either have to have nationwide delivery or be local to south norfolk.
Many Thanks

Try advertising in your local paper classifieds? People often change furniture just because they want a change, often there is nothing wrong with it. We have had some amazing bargains on great quality furniture. Check out the for sale ads, you could always ring up and ask people to email the photos of them to help you decide.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams0

I have bought most of my pine furniture over many years second hand. I would fully recommend it and you will save a fortune. I have some excellent quality furniture for a fraction of the price.
I got most of mine from looking through local papers, adverts in the supermarkets and local shops.

Andy, thanks for the website, I looked at the range and they seemed quite nice. I phoned them to see if I could go and look at the quality but they are an internet based firm only so do not have a show room. Has anyone else had Oxbury range from pine solutions to let us know about the quality.
For now it will be still searching through the papers in the hope I can find what I'm looking for there.0 -
What about Ebay ? There is a site called local bargain finder which enables you to search within a 10 or 25 mile (or more) radius from your home for items which are 'collection only'. HTHNothing is so fatiguing as the eternal hanging on of an uncompleted task. William James0

Do you have a local charity that sells furniture? Have a look on your council website under the recycling section. The local hospice charity shop near me sells good quality second hand furniture. It's aimed at people on low incomes.I'm not cynical I'm realistic
(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)0 -
Nice one Andy :T . Can't wait to hear what the quality is like. If it's any good I shall be straight in the phone to get mine ordered as well.
Hope it gets here soon. Fiona0 -

I am looking for a solid chest of drawers which has solid drawer bottoms not mdf or similar hardboard. And with decent runners, we are fed up of collapsed drawers. I dont mind spending the money if it will last forever. Any suggestions?Quidco £196 - Voucher Codes £408 - GC Saved £603P.A.D. £[strike]4720[/strike] / £4330- Jan GC £375/Spent £283.78~~~~~~~~~~~0

For those in Yorkshire, The Pine Warehouse on the A19 just north of York do some good quality stuff for a decent price. I've always been impressed by the big chunky pine or oak beds and tables in there.
Big sale on now too. Also have stores in Hull and Beverley I think. Very friendly too, we got a custom made mirror for the chimney breast for £50 which I think was good value for the quality and size0 -
I hope no-one has ordered anything from the pine warehouse! They 'appear' to have disappeared!
i ordered a beautiful solid ash dining set for my new extension, they called to say it was ready a few months back but we were not ready, they said they would store it for us for as long as we needed. Great service we thought.
The Hull shop is now empty, no-one answers the phones at any of the shops, the website has today changed to redirect you to http://www.martinandroberts.com/ whereas before you got to the pine warehouse page. No-one is replying to mails sent to the contact for the above site.
Companies Hse still has them as active.
