right i have sat down and read this diary again on the 27/5/2008 i noted my debt was

400 for my alliance and leicester overdraft
    250 for my rbs overdraft
    250 for my amex card
    670 for my egg visa
    total £1570

    with planned spends

    60 for a new tyre
    125 t.v license
    35 car tax
    500 garden
    total £720

the new state of play is

    175 alliance and leicester
    125 rbs
    495 egg visa
    500 amex
    total£1295

    so that is £275 less

    with planned spends

    60 tyre
    125 t.v license
    35 car tax
150 (approx but probably less) car service
50 for every a our son gets
25 for every b our son gets

    between £420 and £620

so that is a saving as well

going to have to leave the garden this year

So, the debt IS going down. Maybe it is not as quickly as you had hoped, but in the current financial/economic climate, the fact that it is coming down not going up further has got to be fantastic news!

One of my jobs too for the next couple of weeks is to go through the bank statements with a fine toothcomb to see where we can cut back a bit more - In theory we should be able to balance the books, but it aint working like that, and of course if the cost of living rises much more, we will, like loads of others, be struggling again.

So, I am with you on this one. Be proud of what you have achieved so far, and use it as a base on which to build.

As for the house/computer thing - I wish I knew! sorry!!

it is it's going down i think it is just the fact that there is 500 on the amex card and i will need to pay this off this month if i am to avoid any charges ...sooooooo things will be tight and i might have to use some of the o/d to pay for it (especially if hubby still has treatments to get) but i would rather pay the o/d the money instead of a visa ...i am however very aware of what is happening with o/d's just now and fully intend on getting rid of them as soon as i can ...

sorry to hear about hubby hypno i really hope he gets something quick but congrats to the kids for the medals you must be a very proud mum (as is your right)

Yes, very proud - it was a good day - although I now have sunburnt arms :o

Yes, I have a couple of overdrafts that I am sure will be called in or reduced in some way over the coming weeks/months.......none of them are more than £250 so not big money to be owing, but I want to be in a position to be able to manage without them should they have to go.

Did you get that knee looked at again, by the way?

i agree with you about the o/d i certainly dont want mine called in anytime soon so will be making the concerted effort (like you) to be the one in control

No I didn't forget the suntan lotion - but I didn't use enough of it.........it was quite windy, so it didn't always feel "hot and sunny". Deceptive.......but still my own fault!!

I don't have any aloe or yoghurt, but will rifle through the cupboards to see what I can find - there must be something! Thankfully it is only my arms because I had a t-shirt......if I had wearing a strappy top i would be in significant pain right now
