Word 2007

Hi i have been trying to find out how to do a few things on Word 2007 and wondering if anyone could help! Firstly I want to find out how i can make a custom bullet - but for that bullet to be saved so that I can use is anytime in any document within Word, not just the document ive created the bullet in.

And secondly i have a custom colour that I use within all my documents. How can I get the colour to be permanently saved within word, again not just in the document ive created it in?

Please help - many thanks

  • Hi Gooey

I reckon the easiest way is to create a template.

Click on new and then go to my templates, there are two options either to create a new document or (the one you want) a new template.

Once you have created templates you can save them somewhere centrally on your network so that those who need can get them, alternatively you might want to look at the windows sharepoint services.

Hope this helps, I like word a lot so if I can help in anyway just let me know.

How do i get to templetes?! The trouble is we dont always use the same template. We have a font colour that matches our logo that we use for headings and then we always have the same indent with bullets. Both of these you can create your own and it will still be available within that document but as soon as you close it and re-open you have to re do them. Cant I save it within word somewhere so i will do it all the time?! or is that just too easy??????
  • Hi again Gooey

I am going to do a bit of copying and pasting so that you can see the bits you need. It may take me a few minutes but it is actally fairly easy. To set up the colours you will need the RGB settings, this will make more sense once I do a screen dump of the images.

This might make for quite a long posting, if it does it might be easier for me to send it to your own email address rather than clogging up the board.

I'm off now to see what I can come up with, bfn.
