Well I put this post on here whilst I was trying to rack my brains to think of things for her to earn a little money and keep busy and I can honestly say its opening my eyes to whats out there!

A trading assistant? I shall check this out on ebay as it sound very much like something she could do, besides I have a really good camera, so she's got the 'tools'

I have thought about the pottery side of the car boot, however I think most people have this covered as every week as I stroll around, I see the people eyeing up all the bits of china etc! I am going to get her to check out all the little knick knack things on ebay and see what sells. Another thing I shall look out for is kenwood chef bits and pieces, they go for a lot on ebay. I go to the car boots anyway (she doesnt go often as its a bit tiring, but she can do all the listing, packing up etc)

Its amazing how all these little things add up, I bet its quite easy to make money if you are in the know!!

Anything Star Trek will sell well, books, magazines anything. I know someone who bought a Star Trek pinball machine for £150 had it serviced and sold it for £800! He didnt get it from a car boot but he is always carbooting and gets loads of Star Trek stuff to sell on.

    Hi Leonie

Sorry to hear abotu yoru daughter, hope she gets the treatement she needs & makes a recovery soon.

Whilst touring car boots would she be able to call you/someone and ask them to look at possible matches for items on ebay & see what they are selling for? This would give her a good idea of when something is a good buy.

I would recommend movie/tv memorablia, good condition old/out of print books for selling on amazon (avoid popular titles as it will be flooded with them, avoid travel books unless the current year) Amazon is good as it incurs no lisiting fees if you don't sell. Avoid videos like the plague as they don't sell for love or money, DVD's sell OK on Amazon but be aware of buying dodgy copies.

    HTH;)

Look out for pieces of Wade ie Wade wimsies (little animal pieces) ..
Advise her to take a good magnifying glass with her if she intends buying whimsies etc. as only mint items will sell for decent money on Ebay.
Beswick is very popular at the moment, particularly cattle and horses, but birds will be the cheapest option. Beswick collectors will accept some damage on the rarer pieces but the price will, obviously, be reduced.
Learn what prices things are fetching by searching 'Completed Listings' on Ebay or borrow a copies of (latest) price/collectors' guides from the library.
Will need to get up very early to get the best buys at the car bootie!!!!!
    Good luck!

I haven't read this book, but from the review on amazon it sounds quite helpful.
Bol has it for £4.99 + £1 delivery (total:£6) and if you buy it from bol via greasy palm (probably other cashback sites too) you get £6 cashback so the book is free! (however you need to buy 1 more book via bol, but I think you have 12 months in which to do this) Warning: bol are a bit slow to deliver stuff!

Or you could buy the book on ebay (about 6 copies on there at the moment, from £1)

Anyway, what I am trying to say is that the book might have some helpful tips and advice in it?

You can also look at ebay pulse to see what sort of things people are searching for on ebay: http://pulse.ebay.co.uk/
