Have to say I think that what is happening is that the Labour Govt is consciously
destroying the middle classes, especially the lower middle classes. The rich pay no
tax and are increasingly above the law, the underclass who do not want to work
are living gratis and those of us who slave away in the middle, work and obey the
law, are being squeezed, being bled dry.

The rich are becoming, have become, a part of an international jet set "elite" and
the rest of us are destined to become part of the international third world labour
pool. They will fly over us in their LearJets and we will be crammed into public
transport as our cars, and our freedom to travel, are taken away.
Certainly seems that way Gallovidian. I couldn't have put it better myself! But may I say, what really annoys me, is the way the "...Dependency Class, ie those who earn nothing / little, therefore contribute nothing / little, but use a disproportionate amount of services, from Social to Health to Education...." as you put it, are always referred to as "Working Class" when they are no such thing! They should not be given the dignity of that title! The system in this country has become ludicrous! I know quite a few people who have been on 'Benefits' for years and years; have hardly done a day's work in their lives, yet when they have come into money later in their lives, usually by an inheritance from relatives, spend that money as fast as they can on absolutely anything, because they know if they save it, they will lose some of their 'Benefits"! The whole purpose of the Welfare State has now become a costly joke! Another 'Joke' being that people who have always voted Labour - I describe as 'Died in the wool' Labour, cannot bring themselves to vote for any other party! Yet they moan like Hell about the way their Party has let them down! Surely, if Labour has changed direction so much, can't they see that other parties have too?

"Common Sense is really not so common!"
