i was transfering my ISA to A&L and i noticed this too!
Im very interested in this BUT am i right in thinking you need to have their current account as well?
At present i have a regular savings account with Halifax, so if i move my main income into a A&L account will that affect my regular savings account with Halifax?0 -
I've just opened premier account - mainly to access the 10% ISA , which was the previous offer.
The 12% regular saver is for new premier accounts, but notice they have a 15% offer - but only if you also take out life cover with themAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -

I have a Halifax account too, and you get the 6.5% up to £2500 as long as you're putting in £1000 a month I think.
Did I imagine the following, but did I read somewhere on this site that there is a loophole around this. You basically take £1000 out and put it straight back in, and the bank considers that a valid deposit???0 -
Personal data leaked?
I was applying for an ISA last week and I invented a 'mother's maiden name'. To my horror, a few days later I received a 'new names' alert from GENES REUNITED using the fake name and to a different email address. What is going on?
I anticipated a risk with security data that banks require being exactly the same data that people put on 'Reunited' sites so I adjusted my data accordingly. It seems that banks cannot be trusted with our data. I notice that the t&c guff always includes the right to share details but I didn't realise it was our security details. Interestingly I didn't take the ISA in the end, so where has my data gone?0 -
Remember that it can take A&L quite a bit of time to set up the first payment standing order date (which determines when the RS account will mature) I think I applied about 4th September and requested the 28th - thinking 'plenty of time' but A&L did not collect until 28 October. So ask the CSA when they will collect from today's date, use that date, and then you have something to hold them to if they are still being inefficient and miss the deadline.....under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

Thanks for the link InMyDreams, I'm on the lookout for a new savings account. I'll have to look into more closely as I'm not too keen on opening up another current account just to qualify.0

thanks InMyDreams, my bro was looking forward to opening the reg saver in sept when he turns 21, he was upset that it was replaced with 10%. i'll pass on the good news0

I want to take up this offer, but have a big problem with A+L.
my current account with them (which is non-premier, but can be upgraded) is in limbo.
the problem is 2 years ago, i moved from my property and went into bank to change my address, they said you can't you can only do it over the phone.
ok now this is my problem, i dont have my pin number to use the service, but they are willing to send me out a pin. the problem ? they will send out a pin to my old address!! I've tried changing my address in the bank, no matter how loud protestations they refuse to do it.0 -

It's 6.17% ..... and it is £1k per month. But that does not have to come from salary ..... and it is quite legitimate to SO the £1k into the current account and then SO it out again the following day. Or, perhaps more sensibly, you SO the £1k out of the Halifax High Interest Account .... then SO it back in again the following day.
I use one of their Websavers to do the latter on my Mother's current account. If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
