Just received my quarterly bill which I pay by direct debit, and cannot understand why the following "adjustment" appears:
How your Direct Debit adds up
Balance on last bill £34.78 cr
Payments rec'd (x3 @ £40) £120 cr
Account balance before charges £154.78 cr
Total electricity charges this period £102.06 debit
Adjustments £34.78 debit
Account balance for information £17.94 credit
It looks like they have just taken off my previous credit balance, unless I am missing something here.
Any advice please, before I go into full rant mode and get on the phone to them!

Hi, Are you sure they did not credit the £34.78 back into your bank account? That's why it shows as a debit on this bill.
Thats what happened to me last year when the £60 cashback (yes it was only £60 then) was credited to my account which put me in credit, this was put into my bank and showed as in your example.0 -
Hi, and thanks for that suggestion. I've just checked and it isn't in my bank account yet, but I'll give it a few days. I bet that explains it. Glad I didn't phone yet and make a prat of myself!
Nothing on the statement to explain this though, which is a bit remiss of them.
Edit:Oops, just checked back and it was credited back in January
Mystery solved. I feel a right fool now.I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
