Ok so summer last year in june, my partner and me took out a joint bank account.
We didnt start using it tho until november.
Once my partner paid money init, they charges us £250+ for underfunding of the month before. Basically they charge £5.00 a day for not having any money in there.
Then, we thought ok fine if thats the rules then thats the rules, but the following month they charged us again for underfunding of about abother £150, which then sent us into minus....we dont have an overdraft either, so now they have been whopping on overdraft charges and underfunding, as we cant afford to pay out nearly 800+ in charges which is what it is now.
When i called then, they said they would let the charges department know i wanted a refund...and a few weeks later i got a letter saying' they are not prepared to refund anycharges until a big court hearing thats happening to find out if these charges are unfair or not', so basically untill then i wont be able to do anything and i am not prepared to pay the fees on the hope i might get them back...so the charges will just go up and up.
Has anyone got any advice on what i can do about this...as they didnt charge in the months after we opened the account...but then had the cheek to charge us once we started putting money in it......im at my wits end with them.
