HELP
Just moved into a new flat and its got this dreadfull econmy 7 hot water and heating.
Ive just about managed to get the heating right (Im still keeping my fingers crossed though with that), But the hot waters a complete nightmare.
Ive set the timer to heat the water over night, but when i get up in the morning theres no hot water, I have to then put it onto boost and that takes 45 mins to warm up.
The timers set on summer time and its dial timmer and set on 12pm - can any help.
Many thanks

It sounds like the bottom thermostat needs resetting. Switch off the power to it. Unscrew the casing. By the temperature gauge, there should be a tiny reset button. Push this in with a pen, and it should reset.
Now, you have to wait until tomorrow morning to see if it works! If not the gauge will need renewing, in which case buy one with a reset button. These trip out if the water gets too hot. (around £8.00 from a diy store)0 -
Hi russ are there 2 elements for your tank?
the bottom one should be the one to come on over night and if there are 2, will have a seperate fuse/mcb in your fusebox - check that hasn't tripped/blown.

MPI have a poll / discussion on Economy 7 / 10 off-peak usage (as a % or total) and ways to improve it but I'm not allowed to link to it so have a look on the gas/elec forum if you would like to vote or discuss.
