No Claims Discount! How Can You Find Out How Many Years You Have?

How can I find out how many years NCD I have in total on my car insurance please? The last 2 insurance companies I used only gave the option of 5 years max. but I know I have much more than this. I have just requested a quote and 2 years made a difference of £50 on my quote, which is a lot of money to give an insurance company. Any suggestions or help much appreciated, thanks.

It doesn't make any difference how many years you have above 5 as that is usually the maximum allowed.
If you want to keep a record, then all you can do is retain all your douments and renewal notices to show your driving history.0 -
As I said 7 years was £50 more expensive than 9 years. So it does make a difference. I haven't kept details from years back as I didn't think it made a difference. So my question is is there any other way I can find out please? Thanks.Titch0

Normally when you apply for insurance to a new company they ask you for proof of your ncb.
If you take the insurance after correctly stating you have gone 9 years without making a claim, and they ask for proof, all you can do is supply copies of your insurance details over the previous 9 years, showing your renewal notices.
A company offering extra discount for 9 years without a claim will know that most insurance companies these days refer to 5 years (max), or 5+ years on their renewal notices.
No central body exists who can give you the proof.0
