No Claims Discount! How Can You Find Out How Many Years You Have?

I have got a lot more years discount than stated on my insurance policy. The last 2 companies I have used only showed 3 or 5 years max. Is there some way I can find out how many years in total that I have and provide proof for insurance company please. I haven't kept old insurance policies as thought total NCD would continue on each policy giving me the full total, but it doesn't. Also didn't realise how much difference it makes on a quote. Just done a quote and there was a difference of £50 for 2 years more NCD. Any help much appreciated. Thanks xxx
