Just wondering re one of those long wire thingies - there is a sort of thick bendy long wire thingie with a hook at the end that one can put down for hoicking things out. Sorry - dont know the name of it - maybe someone more technically-minded than myself knows the technical name for it. I believe they are a few £ from a DIY type shop (maybe called something like a "drain snake"????).

Dont know if one of those would do the trick?

Dont know if you could fashion something similar out of one of those wire coat hangers drycleaners give out?

NB: Think you might get more help with this query - in view of it being gravel - by asking on the "In my home" board.

    Hope this helps.

I think you'll need to call in a tradesman (or woman :p ). You'll need to remove the gravel, and IMO the only way to do that is to remove the trap. If you don't clear it, it'll be completely blocked soon (with hair, shampoo and soap residue, etc).

    Hi pretz,

You should get more help with this from the experts on the In My Home board so I've moved your thread across for you.

As a tradesman, all of these DIY ideas will have limited success. You will end up getting a Plumber in so, don't stress over it and bite the bullet.
