    24hours is 24 hours.

As in between 3pm tuesday's withdrawl of £200 no more until 3pm wednesday.

I have a high withdrawl limit with Barclays, about £500 which i don't understand. Seems a bit high!

Its midnight to midnight, so if you want to withdraw £400, you can go just before and go just after midnight. I'm guessing your with LTSB, as most other banks standard withdrawal limit is between £250-£350

At Abbey it's certainly midnight to midnight. I wouldn't be surprised if some banks have "in a 24 hour period" instead though. It's quite common, when a card has been cloned, for the first fraudulent withdrawal to be made at 23:55 so they can hit the account again 5 mins later, getting the most money possible before anyone spots it.

I didn't know LTSB had a standard limit of £200 - I'm sure I can withdraw £300 at a time (within the calendar day).

(Sometimes using a local Nationwide cash machine, I have to withdraw in two lots - £250 and £50 for instance - because the machine has only £10 notes and can't dispense 30 notes at a time. But there isn't a problem in withdrawing the second amount within a minute of the first.)

I regularly make large ATM withdrawals from Egg Money, FD, Halifax HICA, and YBS Internet Saver...and I remember at least one of them (not sure which though...possibly Egg Money?) makes me wait a full 24 hours, and not until the next 'day'.

I once tried to withdraw £900 from a Lloyds TSB machine (I bank with them and have the standard current account). The machine refused to give me my money and asked if I'd like £800?
Somehow, this leads me to believe there isn't a withdrawal limit? I am confused.

Most machines have a limit as well as the card, my card is £1000 per day but HSBC machines will only give £580 (was £570) then lock the card until the next day, to get £1000 I have to go into the bank - which is only open when I am at work

That's a really high limit. May I ask what type of card you have? Mine's only 300 pounds and the max I've withdraw in a day is like 50 - lol
