I went to oden cinema last night with a girl i have just met, paid to see the film £15 for both of us, which i think is a little bit steep but bit my lip
THEN went to get a few nibbles at the counter, a bag of minstrels, small bottle of water and a small ribena drink, guy at the counter added it up,
"intresting he said" drum roll.........£7.00 please sir..... tried to bite my lip with my date behind me but could not hold it......HOW MUCH i blurted out everyone in the que laughed as i swiped my card.
I just cant get over it! Odeon made me feel like a cheapskate with girl in tow, dont get me wrong i did expect to pay a bit but this is robbery:mad:
I can understand why people dont go out anymore..

It's widely known that cinemas are expensive mate, but the prices shuld have been up on display so you would have had an idea about how much it costs...
Is there a Cineworld anywhere near you, sign up to their Unlimited card, 12.99/month to go see as many films as you like (Makes you feel less guilty when you buy the food, I seriously cant resist the nachos with cheese and loads of jalapenos and a bucket of coke) Still costs a fortune, but I feel vindicated that I havent spent nearly £7 just to go through the door£4988 Lloyds TSB Mastercard
£400 O/D Lloyds TSB
£2650 Lloyds TSB Loan
£5070 Black Horse Finance
Skint, but I have a plan.... an MSE Plan!!!0 -
I sneak in sweets but buy a drink, it's bad but i don't care. I want to see a film without remortgaging the house.0

Im sure she thinks i am a cheapskate now, i am not i just hate been ripped off to an extreme.
I can see why people pirate films and stay a home with mates and a few beers now.
Not that i would condone such a thing0 -

Well you'll soon find out, if she agree's to go on another date with you you're in the clear!0 -
yep, this is reason we dont go very often.
£7 for those 3 things is shocking.Just to win anything would be great!!0 -
The cinema does my head in!
£7 for a ticket now at my local Odeon, £5odd at Showcase. I don't buy the food - Pizza Hut beforehand, woo!0 -

No need to sneak them in. You can take what you want in with you.
McFlurries sometimes come in with us when we are in the Leeds city centre VUE.I beep for Robins - Beep Beep
& Choo Choo for trains!!0 -
Or buy the Minstrels they sell from elsewhere! They don't give you a receipt so how're they to know?!0
-
I thought it was common knowledge how much the cinema costs! as for taking your own nibbles well who said you can't? when I go (not very often) I always take my own."Imagination is more Important than knowledge"0

I hope you're planning on letting her pay half for future dates. Maybe it's just me but i didn't like letting the bloke shell out for everything, i don't think it's fair. When i went on dates, if the bloke paid for the cinema then i'd pay for food etc.0
