my mum has just found an old account book of these in some old files dating back to 1975. She had 2 pound still left in it when she stopped using it.

I said she could still find the account and claim the money back but i cant find anything about it.

Im sure i read on here about a site where you could claim old accounts but when i found the link it came up saying no longer there

She should contact NS&I. One can no longer transact on the account but it can be closed without notice. If you call them no doubt you can get them to send you the necessary forms.
Our UK customer service team is available every day from 7am until midnight.

Alternatively I know initially post offices had a supply of the necessary forms, so it may be worth asking at your local branch.
