Branch/ATM Savings Account

Options
Hi

I'm looking to open a savings account somewhere that must have either branch access or a cash machine card.

The account will have no more than around £1500 in at a time and will be used to store parts of my student loan, grants and wages that I'm not going to need until part the way through the university term. I would rather get some interest than leave it in my current account, albeit not a very high rate.

I need instant access to the account via either a branch or ATM. Therefore it should NOT be solely internet, phone or post.

I was looking at the Yorkshire BS Internet Savings account at 5.75%. It includes a Link cash card.

I've already used this year's ISA allowance.

The only local building societies we have are Yorkshire and Nationwide. We do have branches of all the major banks.

Thanks in advance

Bruce

  • I would go with the YBS Internet Saver. It has the best interest rate for a cashcard account but you can only access it via the internet (not via the branch network). The next best with cashcard and access via a branch network is the YBS Freedom account which is available up to 20 y.o. at 5.65% AER.
