Sell your house privately

For the love of god just sell it privately. Put in the effort, advertise it on the major sites and take calls yourself if possible.

I've been house hunting for a while now and the only words I can use to describe estate agents are unhelpful, incompetent, useless and uninterested.

I'm working in Birmingham all week for the next few weeks, and looking in Leeds. Agents have basically refused to 'squeeze me in' for viewings, even if the property is about 5 mins from their office, despite be not being available to view again for a week... Its like they dont want to sell anything. Most pictures on rightmove are dire to say the least. Many agents have turned up late to viewings, they have crap phone manors, only 1 has ever notified me of new properties coming to the market etc.

Also, what is with only being available from 12pm-3pm on sundays? Surely this is when most people will be free to look at houses?

USELESS!!!! Sell it yourself! Especially considering the current market.

Couldn't agree more from a sellers perspective. The agent we are with (probably the biggest in Leeds, mentioning no names ahem) are so bad we have given them two weeks notice to get out of the contract. Would happily show you round our house anytime of the day or night (Wortley area)!!!!!!!!
