Kitten

Hi

Sorry if this is in the wrong place but I don't know what to do.

I have a litter of kittens that I am selling, we asked people to put a deposit down on the kitten that they wanted before they were ready to go, but now they are ready to go and someone has sent a deposit by post for one but the problem is that they were meant to pick it up yesterday but didn't turn up. I have emailed them but they haven't replied and now I don't know what to do. I have a kitten that might not have a home, lots of interest by other people and no reply from the supposed owner.

I don't want to give the kitten to someone else only for the 'owner' to phone or email saying they are going to pick it up at another time.

Do I keep it for the original people or offer the deposit back and sell it to someone else?

Does sound very odd, doesn't make them sound the most responsible people so maybe you shouldn't sell them the kitten anyway? I can't wait to collect my kitten and wouldn't dream of being late let alone missing the day altogether! Did they ever come to visit the kittens or parents? I would give it them until mid week.

Waiting a few days couldn't do any harm now could it - either to old or next purchaser.

No, they was going to come and visit but they were coming from hertfordshire (i'm in kent) and it snowed on that day so decided to pick a kitten from pictures sent to them in emails and posted the deposit by special delivery next day.

Oooh I'm so angry!!! We have managed to find a phone number for the people who were due to come and pick the kitten up, the whole reason they didn't turn up on saturday..............

    their car broke down!!!!

Fine, I can accept that but there is no excuse not to contact us, now they want a refund of their deposit but i'm going to make them wait a few days before I send it, childish I know but the mood i'm in at the moment I would proberly just rip the money up and put it in an envelope.

A deposit is a deposit and if that was in a store you would not get it refunded ..... I would say no refund :confused:Plus you have now incurred extra costs and inconvenience.

Totally understand your anger! The kitten had a lucky escape. You don't have to refund the deposit though, they shouldn't even ask for it back! Time wasters!!
