Small Businesses in need of help

It is stated on the site “Don’t post links for personal gain”.

I have over 15 years industry experience and wish to help SME’s in dispute resolution.

Debt in business, is straightforward. If you can’t pay, you are trading while insolvent, it’s against the Law and you will be disconnected. It’s that simple.

However, utility companies use this as a means to exploit in dispute resolution. There isn’t much arbitration and due to their call centre mentality, disputes are hard to resolve. You never get to speak to the same person twice. You are lucky to speak to a UK based representative half the time.

What I am asking for on this thread, is for enough small businesses to leave a message here asking for assistance and I will seek to provide a link to my website (as yet under construction) with the permission of the host..

For the simple reason, there is no assistance purely for debt, I cannot deal with “hardship” cases.

Recently, I have helped saved individual businesses in excess of £30k.

The financing of my business will become clear, IF I am able to promote it, but basically my fees will be due from money saved. Like a “no win – no fee” scenario.

Also, I have potential revenue streams, selling data collected from these cases back to the suppliers to enhance their systems and prevent repetition.

Please use this thread to explain your case and enable me to gauge the need.

    Hello again Utilityman.
I see your ethics do not stop from possible exploting struggle SME's for a profit !!
Find out who's cashflow is low and sell it to the highest bidder and as you say, you have 15 years experiance in this market.
STRONG WARNING FELLOW SME's DO NOT TELE THIS GUY / WOMAN ANYTHING. CERTAINLY NOT WHO YOU ACTUALLY ARE !!
If you weigh more than the space you take, You will sink !.
  • Ah, a fan !!

As stated, I cannot help "struggling" SME's in debt.

I have resources to hand and plenty of colleagues in the industry, to see disputes from an independent angle.

Check "ALL" of my posts, I am here to help, and have never asked for a penny in consultation fees.

SME's are in business, and I will be too soon.

A mutually acceptable fee, is what businesses are in business for?

You're being a bit unfair, Water...can't recall you helping out this board as much as Utility Man. This board needs inside knowledge as long as it doesn't breech previously agreed contracts.

They'll be in even more debt once you've extorted that fee off them

Any member of this MSE (whether or not they are an SME) can get FREE advice purely by posting on these forums - that is what they are for, exchange of information and advice.

I found by experience that most difficulties experienced with any utility company where it is clear the call centre staff cannot help, can usually be resolved by a brief & polite letter to the MD of that company.

... and that costs,... er,...27p at current postal rates.

Tell me, why do you think the rule you quote about “Don’t post links for personal gain” does not apply to you?

  • Errr, the link is where?

A lot of posters here, have ideas, conjecture, and PERSONAL experience.

Is there an accountancy website where SME'S can get their tax returns filed for free?

No, but as here, there are plenty of very experienced professionals, that will offer FREE advice.

I am offering to investigate problems with invoices, reads, metering etc. to SME'S.

I don't see that being offered elsewhere, do you?

    Just to reiterate :

"They'll be in even more debt once you've extorted that fee off them"

I CANNOT / WILL NOT deal with debt cases.

How many on this site (Gas/elec), have debt (can't pay issues?).

    It's not CAN'T, it is, !!!!!! should I?
  • As I say ideas and conjecture. Your post from yesterday :

    Quote :

Unfortunately, you cannot get someone else (such as a CORGI engineer) to do this inspection - it has to be the meter reader.

British Gas offer the following timeslots:

Morning - 8am to 1pm (Mondays to Saturdays)
    Afternoon - 12pm to 5pm (Weekdays, 6pm on Saturdays)
    Evening - 5pm to 8pm (Weekdays only)

Perhaps your other half could pick a slot when he isn't working?

The so called inspection only actually takes about 60 seconds - as long as it takes to read the meter.

It doesn't "have to be the meter reader" it has been passed to a third party, so they are not "the meter reader".

You obviously work in the industry, you obviously have something to say?

I suggest you say it and stop dragging me into this mire!

    Hello Ken,
My biggest investment are my employees, anything that is unfavorable to me giving them there payment (like rogue traders) I have high principals about, they work hard for me, they deserve my best efforts to keep undue overheads down to a minimum so if there is spare funds it can be shared. Utilityman without knowing full history of my case decided to call me a Whinger and a parasite.
I have to question his motives, and to me it stands out a mile. If something is 'given' it should be given freely, not with attachments and return motives.
