Hi,
I applied for an amex platinum money back card, but got a amex platinum card. Has anyone had this discovery too? Definately not my fault, as i have the original application number, and details in front of me.

Does the card have the words 'Platinum' on the card? If not then it is the money back card. My money back card does state 'Platinum Credit Card' online but I know for sure it is the money back card.
If you have an online account -
1. Sign In
2. Click on 'Your Account'
3. Click the 'Platinum Credit Card' on the left hand side. (Above Set up more cards online)
4. Click 'Card Benefits'
It should state 'Platinum Moneyback Card'0 -
Ikennet,
I think you are right. It just says American Express on the card. So i presumer it is a moneyback card. But when you activate online it looks like the Platinum Credit Card. Confusing.
Many thanks,

Yip, The card does say 'American Express' but lacks that 'Platinum' tag.0 -
Thanks. It says Moneyback card. But under the "Spend More, Get more moneyback" it says:
"It couldn't be simpler. As you spend more, your MoneyBack rate goes up, so you get more back.
0.5% on spend up to £3,500
1.0% from £3,501 to £10,000
1.5% on spend over £10,001"
So where is the 5% offer for 3 months?0 -

This is after the 3 months, if you look at the 'New eligible spend' it should be around double what you have spent on the card.
The real Platinum card carries a £300 fee.. not something you want to end up with unless the benefits are worth it for you!0 -
Ok, where do i find the "New eligible spend' bit on their site?
Just paranoid, as i bet there is some small print that prevents payouts.0 -
Go online and view your recent transactions, its around there.0
