Sunday 20/04/08 What small dfw things have you done today???

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free.

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging the washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important.

Today I will:
  • Check online banking
  • Clicks
  • storecupboard lunch
  • Cook tea for oldies and eat for free:D
  • More work on veggie garden/greenhouse
  • Plant some more seeds - free with subscription magazine:D
Have a good day everyone. Enjoy the last of the weekend:j

We're packing a picnic and taking the kids to the huge, brand new playground at Shibden Park in Halifax (free)
Then later on doing a lovely Sunday roast family dinner at home!

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

    Afternoon all,
Very quiet day can't get out into garden as weather is awful. It's been a NSD so far though. In a minute I'm gonna take a break away from here and do some ironing for the OH and then get the tea ready also for OH.

Hmmm well haven't done much today but wanted to post anyway. Made lunch at home, although I would normally anyway. Had to go buy petrol, but did look up the supposedly cheapest near me, and went to that one. Went to a garden centre earlier and bought some plants etc but did collect the loyalty points. Going to get some free exercise in a minute by digging flower beds and planting them all!! :)

Walked to church this morning (45 mins at a brisk pace) as no petrol in car and have only 73p left till OH gets paid on Wed.

Going to look out the bicycle pump so I can cycle to work tomorrow, Tues and Wed.

Edited to say: also have done 2 washes at 30 and dried inside and OH has made loverly garlic and foccacia bread in the breadmaker (which we had still hot with some yummy cheddar)
YOUR = belonging to you (your coat); YOU'RE = you are (I hope you're ok)

really....it's not hard to understand :T
  • Well done to everyone .
I've not had a NSD but everything was budgeted for.
    • Have finished some jobs around the house
    • made a rice pudding in the slow cooker which I haven't done before.
    • Washing done at 30 and dried inside.
    • Made bread in the BM
I really wish the weather would get better - it's so miserable when it should be spring!
    Getting there...slowly! :D

    GC : must do better
    NSD: very rare

No matter how slow I go I am lapping everyone on the couch.
