Hi

We currently have an Epson Stylus Photo R300,and a canoscan scanner, we are looking to upgrade to an all in one 6 colour photo printer, we were considering puchasing Epson Stylus RX585, but have found poor reviews on certain sites, so would be looking for alternatives, any recommendations, we use the printer for cardmaking, so has to cope with heavy weight card, and fine detail, also photo printing.

Any info or advise would be really appreciated.

Many thanks
Caris

Have you reviewed the models by HP and Canon, they would be my first choices over the Epson's.

Samsung are also very good, excellent after sales etc.

We have the HP C4180 and it's great.

  • If you want a reliable good qood quality printer, I would start with the models from HP and maybe Canon. If you're bothered about running costs and would prefer cheap ink carts, look at Epson. However, I've found to my cost that these unbranded ink carts aren't always the best, rarely last as long and usually end up clogging the machine. I now stick with HP but I can't remember the model.
