It has to be in PC Suite Mode i think. I usually also have the Nokia Pc Suite instaled when i update mine.

possibly a faster phone
new features (i think the flash player was recently added/updated)
and if you change the product code, it gets rid of operator (eg orange and vodafone) branding
Please note if you cvhange the product code your warranty is voided, you can change it back BUT the nokia updater tracks your IMIE number so someone said ( Works at nokia service center )0 -

Hi ZINXYX
If your brother is a Vodafone customer then his handset may be one of those currently affected by the problems that have affected other N95 users when they've tried to update the firmware through the update tool via the Nokia website.
As we're aware of the impact this has caused we've been working closely with Nokia to get this sorted out as quickley as possible. To get the latest information on this your brother might want to visit Vodafone's eForum via this link.
However, if he isn't a Vodafone customer then I'd suggest he makes contact with his network provider to see if they've any other customers with the same problem.
Hope this helps.
