  • Hey guys,

Has anyone managed to find a cheap alternative to DKNY's Be Delicious (the green apple shaped bottle), or even Hugo Boss's Deep Red?
    Thanks!

I just want to add my thumbs up for Perfume Parlour. I bought some of the oils and thought I'd share my opinions...

Koko's Rico (Gaultier - Kokorico) - It smells a bit overpowering at first and I didn't recognise the scent, but after a few minutes on the skin it smells amazing! I still have some of the original Kokorico EDT here and sprayed some on my other wrist to compare. The PP substitute smells identical!

Verily Irresistable (Givenchy - Very Irresistable) - The weakest of the 3. Has a vague similarity to the original and doesn't give much projection. That said, the original is quite a weak fragrance anyway. I'd avoid this one.

Malt Men (Thierry Mugler - Pure Malt) - Absolutely gorgeous, strong without being overpowering and very much like the original (very expensive) scent. My personal favourite!

The problem with fragrance oils is that, although they have a lot of lasting power on the skin, they don't give much projection. In the coming days I'm going to try infusing these with alcohol to see what results I get. I've also ordered 3 more oils and will give you my opinion on those soon.

I agree about perfume oils lacking projection, so will be very interested in your infusion with alcohol results.

I tried infusing my Perfume Parlour oil with vodka. It definitely made a difference and gave it more projection, so I'd say it works. That said, it's only 37% proof, so the result was quite weak. I'm going to buy some perfumers alcohol soon and give that a try.

On a side note, I also bough Milton Lloyd's Bondage (JPG Le Male) and I give it a solid recommendation! I've been wearing Le Male for 10 years and this smells identical, lasts several hours and projects very well. Very pleased with this!

Let me know how the perfumer's alcohol works, please.

Also, will you put the end result in a glass bottle with stopper, or a spray bottle (presumably plastic)?

    Thanks.

  • That's really interesting, Daniel. Thank you for taking the time and trouble to let us know your results.

The trouble with perfume oils is that they stay close to the skin, and therefore lack projection. Mixing with alcohol seems to overcome this, so I may give it a whirl.

    Thanks again.

Please does anyone know if there is a smell a like of Estee Lauders Sensuous Noir (the one in the bluey/purple bottle)?

I have Cashmere from Next which is similar to Sensuous Nude which i like for daytime but the Noir is my real fave & at the moment only wear it on special occasions as i cannot afford to replace it when it runs out.

thank you to anyone who can help & apologies if it has already been mentioned & i missed it xx
