Why can't I buy Sky+ without having Sky Multiroom? Is it available or is it just a sales technique that Sky operate online?

    I don't know...I got sky+ year's ago and didn't have multi-room...ask to speak to a supervisor if you ring them again and ask them...they are giving them away if you reccommend a friend you both get one...:D

    No requirement to have Multiroom with Sky+.

    Probably the usual incompetence of a Sky employee.;)

    You don't have to purchase through SKY, you could try an independant installer, you may get a better deal apparantly doing it this way rather than buying direct through SKY. Just look up aeriel installers in the yellow pages and ask if they install Sky plus.

    You could also do it yourself if you're so inclined and maybe technically minded or know someone who is: http://www.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!/tech/page10.htm

    There's also a large thread on self installations in this forum: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=141 though I can't find it presently, but a little searching on your part may turn up something :)

    Yes I agree.
    I suspect it's more likely a promotion where if you buy both then you'll get free installation or something similar.

    I've never heard of Sky insisting you buy both.
