Using a food processor

Hello all. I hope you can help me. I've never used a food processor and have recently received an old model from a freecycler. Trouble is I have yet to use it. I have no idea what to do - what to make and how to prepare it. Please has anyone got recipes and instructions so I can give it a try, or is there already a food processor thread on here? Thanks for any help. Look forward to hearing from you.

Throw in some onions or carrots or celery and blits thenm until they're chopped. Then freeze them and you'll have chopped onions/veg ready for your recipes.

    Sponge cake:
Blitz together 3 large eggs, 8oz marg, 8oz self raising flour, 8 oz caster sugar and 1ts baking powder. Bake in 2 greased 7in tins for 25min at 180C.

Pastry: 100g butter and 200g flour and enough ice water to bind.

Loads more can be done but these are what spring to mind

Otherwise try a general search. I don't think there is a specific food processor thread.

If you can tell us the make/model, someone may be able to point you in the right direction for an instruction manual.

Fantastic freecycle though, I'd love a food processor but have no room to store one. Ho hum...

    Hi Eosgirl,

If you can let us know the make of your food processor some of us may be able to help. In the meantime have a look at this thread:

Food Processor - What you really use it for?

If you search this forum for 'food processor' there are lots more threads that should help.

Thanks for all your replies. The chicken nuggets on one of the links appeals to me. Thanks npsmama for writing out that information. I have copied and saved it. The machine is a Magimix 1800. The instruction book came with it. I found a recipe book on the Magimix site at £2, but with delivery etc ended up nearly £7. Will have to wait until I have some spare coppers before I can even think of ordering it. If anyone else would like to add to this thread I would be really grateful.
