Painting breeze blocks

What is the best paint to use on breeze blocks??
I am painting the inside wall of the garage.
A white will do, and have 5 litres of crown trade obliterator, bought for another job, but would prefer to go with something cheaper.
Was hoping a white emulsion would do, and get a big tub, cos lots to do.
roller? brush? any prep other than brushing off the dust?
cheers,

I just used ordinary silk magnolia on ours 5 years ago and still looks good (no damp though)
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try getting in bed with a mosquito!

Asuming it's not brand new blockwork, then yes just about any emulsion will do for that. You will need at least a medium, probably a long piled roller, and the first coat will sink straight in.
The alternative and possibly better solution though, is to use a cheap masonary paint in there.

My mum used emulsion on a breeze block wall that was outside in her garden ! Watered down for the first coat and neat for the second. Still looks ok..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

If your walls are made of the heavy concrete blocks and they're unpainted then I'd consider getting something like this type of Spray Gun and cheap white smooth finish masonary paint.
Even with a long pile roller it's hard work getting the paint into all the surface holes in those type of blocks.0 -
If you're doing a lot, i'd definately go with the spray gun! We painted an entire industrial unit using a cheap electric sprayer from B & Q and watered down the paint. It looked great and lasted years! Call of Duty widow :rolleyes:0

Ok, would a cuprinol sprayer thingy work with any of these paints. I'm ust struggling to find a sprayer/compressor cheapy cheapy. Any ideas on whether I could rent one?0
