What do i say when i want to claim on my credit card repayments

Hi everyone

just a quick one i have not worked since last year and been sick with a bad back since xmas just waiting on my mri scan results to see whats causing me so much pain.

I have just seperated with my husband so im having to get income support (not for long i hope) as i have never been on benifits before,so i really miss my own money ,i cannot wait to start work again. But while im not working i was writing all my out goings down and realised i have been paying payment protection on my credit card against illness or becoming unemployed

The credit card is only worth £500 my direct debits are only for the min payments so the debt is not clearing,

I finished work last march we were being made redundant in june but i was not due money or anything .I asked to leave in march, which i did.I then had untill october off then worked for 5 wks and packed in as my back starting hurting due to lifting but that was not the reason i left.I left due to childcare, now as i said im claiming income support i dont know what to say to credit card company (tesco) about why im unemployed i dont want to be told that because i left my job i cannot claim, and do i tell them i left in march and then november. But the reason i cannot work now is i have a bad back

any advice guys

On looking through a couple of T&Cs for payment protection plans I would say that you will not be able to claim anything. Simply due to the fact that you did leave your employment voluntarily rather than wait to be made redundant. Had you stayed on another 3 months instead of asking to leave in March then you could have made use of the payment protection plan.
