Patio and Wall Cleaner

Options
Does anyone know if these, are any good?
I have seen one in Aldi for £25.
I believe they fit onto most pressure washers, and am very tempted. Otherwise what is the best way to clean block paving?

I've got a Karcher pressure washer and use it a couple of times a year to clean down my patio and pathways. I don't use anything with it as the water pressure alone (110 bar) cleans all the algae, dirt etc. If you have a pressure washer, just use that. Its a lot cheaper than £25.00. If you don't you can pick them up for £40 - £50 and can be used for a multitude of things.

  • Yes I have a karcher, but last year I tried to wash the blocks, and although they came clean, the mess took longer to clean up and was all over the walls and windows. It now looks as bad again.
I asked about the patio cleaner because it seems to be an attachment that fits onto the pressure washer, and forms kind of a shield around the bottom, thus preventing the mess! Anyone else help?

Oh ok. I have misunderstood you. I guess the nonly way you will know is to buy one. Sorry I can't be more helpful. And yes, I agree, they do make hell of a mess!

i just the pressure washer with no cleaning fluid at all. in most cases it does the job ok.
for bad areas i sometimes use a patio type cleaner (neat) and a stiff brush first.
    Get some gorm.

I did buy a 3rd party partion cleaner attachment for my pressure washer (not karcher)
Cant see a pic of it on Aldi so may be different to the one I got

I theory a good idea, since cleaning the patio with the jet is like cleaning with the rubber on the end of a pencil and so takes ages, the attachments swirls the jets round in a pattern to cover a bigger area in one go

Whilst the one I got worked, in as much as I got a clean bit the size of the tool, when trying to move it about it tilted such that it was no longer parellel with the patio and water everwhere.

Persisted with a bit, but couldn't make it work so back it went !
  • Thanks for your replies so far. I was hoping that someone would tell me they are brilliant and are dead easy to use. Lol!
Still! someone out there may know?

Just buy one, use it carefully and if it is no good, clean it down, repackage it and take it back. I've done that on more than one occassion with things. Especially and the major shed DIY stores!

I bought one of these last year, brilliant invention. It normally takes me half a day to clean my patio with my karcher. I usually spray everything else including myself in the process. This is much easier and cleaner. Hardly any sprayback (it is all contained under the cover). I ended up cleaning my parents front drive and patio as well. Mum has bought her own one this time.

    Hope this helps

  • Thanks Weeboo, You have convinced me and I'm going to buy one. (providing Aldi still have them!)
