First I would make sure that you create rescue disks before you go and install xp.

Also make sure you have your device drivers or can get hold of them..

I didnt and was not able to get back into my recovery partition.... I thought Vista was not for me, 1 month later I re-installed it....which was a huge pain.... you might end up doing the same

You can install xp simply by changing the boot sequence to boot from cd, pop in the xp disk and away you go......
:confused:I have nothing better to do!!!!

Any particular reason, or do you just prefer it?

I think ebuyer is about the cheapest place to get XP right now, probably in the region of £60

I take it that you have a good reason for this? Anyway just boot up with the XP Installation disk and you can then reformat the machine and install XP. Make sure you back up any data first and any drivers you need are available on the web. Graphics card etc.....

Ditto, why would you want to install XP instead of Vista?

Why do you post if you're not going to post a relevant answer?
If I ask someone "Where can I get red paint", it's not to be asked in return "why don't you get green paint instead?".

    Pot kettle black no?

Anyway, if it was a problem with Vista then we might be able to help.

You can install XP and get shot of Vista but you may find it hard to locate some device drivers, also the cost of a XP COA, you may invalidate your warranty, you may also forget to back up Vista OS to disc, and in any case its the newer OS.

But yep you can indeed use XP, google as their is lots of info out there.

If people could actually bother reading a question and stick to answering it instead of purposedly trying to lead to a well beaten horse argument, then I wouldn't need to be a pot at all would I?

Anyway, if I was to downgrade a PC, I'd just reinstall XP from scratch. Get a XP CD, put it in the drive, reboot, and the PC should booot from the XP installation menu.

I would just dual boot the system, format the HDD and install Windows XP, then install Windows Vista along side it. Then you got best of both worlds.
Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.
