I get my Gas and Elecy from EDF and got a letter a few days ago
telling me that they have carried out my annual review for my gas (
this is the first one as I have only been with them 12 months) .They
have reduced my monthly payments but say that the outstanding balance
for the 12 months has to be paid now . I seem to remember the last
time I was on this sort of budget plan ...think it was BG ....any
balance was carried over and included with the next years payments
...any Credit being paid to the consumer ..
Is that not the way it normally works .? In any event I cancelled the DD as I wasn't sure that there would be enough cash in that particular account so I'll pay it seperately and start the DD over altho' I'm not convinced any advantage is really worth it .

Tell EDF to go take a hike.
We were with them for 2 years and we had this review because we were slightly in debit at the end of the review period. Agreed to up the dd slightly after their CS rep admitted that they can only make you pay off the o/s amount if it reaches £150.
Have now moved after they ended the online v3 tarrif, and they have messed up both the gas and electric transfer by charging the "new" amount whilst the transfer was ongoing.
Guess it is probably down to which cs rep. you get when you call, as it an 0800 number why don't you try ringing again and see if they will let you up the dd slightly.
