Off topic (I 'm sorry but I'm still hopping mad) but this must be the 'new customer service' at Asda.
went Friday , only bought a few items and used self scan, as in a bit of a hurry,
one item was reduced, didn't notice until I tried to scan that it only had reduced price on ticket stuck over barcode.
I asked politely.. can you please help as I cannot scan this and was told NO
you need to queue AGAIN at a till !!
this was Friday morning ,long queues SA didn't seem to care
    thank you...feel better now

I was under the impression that Asda took all coupons, up to 10% of your shopping.

The OP tried to use £2.95's worth of coupons on an £8 spend, so no wonder it got flagged up to the CS staff - another case of trying to push it that bit too far.

Having said that, they should have returned her coupons - unless they plan to prosecute and use them in evidence in a fraud case.

i too have had problems with using internet coupons in asda. i was so fed up of them not taking them that i rang up customer services. they confirmed that they do take them and i got them to send a confirmatory letter by email so i could print it off and take it in store.

the next time i went in i showed is to the cs desk before i went shopping, but i still had to wait at the till before a supervisor not only came, but so they could photocopy the letter! everything was fine until a few weeks ago and then the old line 'we don't take internet....' started again.

so i went back to the cs desk and asked to speak to a manager. he said they didn't take them. so i asked to call cental cs while he was there from their phone - surprise! they do take them - i put him on the phone so they could confirm it! no probs since.

although they say they will take 10% off bill (unless you buy the product), you won't see this in writing - although one of my letters re. internet coupons states 'only one coupon per product item unless the customer actually buys the item' - to me that says it all.

i do not try and use more than 10% unless i have bought the item. my tesco says they will only take one coupon (internet) per item.

a few months ago there was an advert in the asda magazine from whiskas which said 'go to our site and print off this coupon and use it' - they were in their full-on not taking internet coupons period, so i had to keep showing them the page in the magazine! i had actually bought the item too. i also wrote to whiskas who didn't seem that bothered, but i got an extra £1 coupon for my trouble;)

hahaha you can only laugh, snotty supervisors? Who the f*** do they think they are? Last time I checked they were in a low paying, dull, no skills required job..and yet they get snotty? Jesus

It's a power trip for someone in a low skill job - it gives them a rush, I reckon.

Choosing a nice young SA working a till works best for me - at Oadby ASDA more than 8 coupons makes the till bleep and a supervisor has to be called, although technically they tell me it is up to 10%, so I stick to 8 coupons and it is generally fine, and avoids the old battleaxes turning up.

hang on a minute.....some people are only able to get these jobs to fit in with caring for children or eldely relatives....they should not all be cast as the same die just because they are in a low skilled job.....saying that, there is no excuse for rudeness and noone likes to be on the receiving end of a bolshy sa.....

Well, this is the paltry answer to my email..
    Not impressed.
    Thank you for your message.

I was very concerned to hear we didn't handle your complaint as well as we should have when you visited our (Location) store recently. If any of our customers ever feel the need to complain we certainly want to put things right as soon as possible, and I'm very sorry that this clearly didn't happen this time.

I've emailed the complaint to Allison *****, the customer service manager at the store, and asked to ensure this type of complaint does not happen again. I've also asked her to get in touch with ASDA House if she is unclear of the policy behind what coupons/vouchers we accept.

Thanks again for taking the time to let us know about this. I hope our response will go some way towards restoring your faith in us and we'll be able to welcome you back into one of our stores again soon.

    Regards

That's a pathetic response. He didn't even cover the value of the vouchers they stole.
