Need Advice - Claiming compensation from crash

Hi,

My girlfriend has been involved in a car crash a few days ago. A big lorry smashed into the back of car. Now we think she has whiplash and she is in a lot of discomfort. She teaches and has to spend a lot of the time on her feet as well as carry things, which she is unable to do at the moment.

She has been taken to hospital and been given pain killers and has some checks done. We are looking to book her into a physio sometime this week to have her checked out. There is a witness who saw everything that happened as well as an police officer who passed by moments after the accident.

Now we have contacted her insurance company Norwich union who said she is not covered for legal fee's. What would be the best avenue to pursue does anybody now what companies are good to use? or know what we should be doing?

Thanks,
Rich

Check your household policy to see if you have any legal expenses cover - if so, they will be able to instruct a solicitor on your behalf.

If not you'll have to instruct a solicitor yourself (or you could pursue the claim personally but it might get tricky if you don't really know what you are doing).

try contacting her union NUT they will probably represent her.if not try a local solicitor they may take it on no win no fee ,as it is a rear end shunt more than likely they will admit at fault.on the down side i was hit from behind 3 yrs ago and i am still suffering and still not settled  ,don,t think just because it,s whiplash it will go away .push to get independant medical treatment.
  • no, i would use an accident managment company, i work for a repair garage in shropshire and we use accident exchage. They will claim any injury losses, put you in a replacement car, and claim direct with the 3rd party. just google them and have a read.

Don't use an accident management company - they have no legal standing and would not be able to issue proceedings on your behalf, should it come to it.

    You need a solicitor.

Accident managment company will take on the case and refer to in house solicitors.
  • Hi
You can claim for PI through the TP's insurance, quicker and easier IMHO!

Otherwise if TP's insurance aren't accepting liability too easily as said earlier Accident exchange are very good- obviously that's my opinion too!
