Hi,
We're thinking of getting a Garmin NUVI 250 [not 250W] and would like to ask for some advice please.
The main reason for this model is the price £100:j - and that it features European maps including Greece.
My questions are: -
Would maps of Greece include the islands, specifically Crete?
Are there any other systems that include maps of all Europe (not just Western Europe of UK and Ireland) you can suggest?
We were thinking of buying from ebuyer.com - but wonder if anyone has found a better site?
Many thanks

Oh blow! I just found that no SatNav does detailed maps of Crete
. Feel free to contradict me though  .
I've been there before and found Knossos by accident - since I was looking for the signposts but didn't find any:rotfl: . This time I was going to do it the Money Saving Way - spending less on petrol:T. Buying a SatNav had the added advantage that I would still have it at the end of the holiday whereas renting one would have been about the same price and I'd have to give it back.
The best laid plans of mice and men etc. etc. etc. :rolleyes:Some people hear voices, some see invisible people. Others have no imagination whatsoever

I bought one from Amazon earlier this year for £115. It's an excellent bit of kit for the money. If I remember this evening I'll do a quick check and see if ti does have any sort of mapping of Crete. It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -

I've just zoomed into Crete on my 250, it only has one road, the main one going round the outside of the island.
It's a great bargain though, I got it to replace a faulty navman when it came out, it was £230 then but compared to the navman the garmin maps are so much better.0 -
A good map of Crete is available for the Mio/Igo software, its a 2008.1 map, you can put this software on a device that runs Windows CE or Windows 5 or 6. Tomtom and Garmin maps at the moment are useless for Crete.
This device is windows CE based.
