What type of camera. Li-Ions can holda long charge, my snap Canon Ixus and pro DSLR both last for 400-600 shots each on one Li-Ion charge.

Check some camera sites so it matches yours, usually for replacement Li-Ion batteries they are the same mAh (i.e. capacity in layman's terms), as the originals, normally higher capacity Li-Ions are larger.

Personally I'd only buy good Li-Ions from the manufacturer or from a reputable camera dealer such as Jacobs you don't want dodgy cheap Li-Ion batteries catching fire.

These batteries last a good long time, I would have thought 1 spare would be plenty.

I bought a couple of ones for a Samsung camera. They take a standard minolta type battery. I had a browse through ebay. Tossed a coin and got two that had a reasonably similar mAh as the Samsung one.

The camera and/or charger have not yet exploded. The camera still takes pics.

I have no idea if the batteries are the capacity advertised.

Still I spent 1/4 of the price of a "real" battery for two extras so do I care?

Take over hype mAh claims with a pinch of salt.

You can only get the same maH into a given space so as long as the replacement is the same size, dont worry.
As unrich said earlier, if it's a quarter the price, who cares if it's not 100% as good as the original, it will tide you over until you can recharge the original. That's what I do with my Canon batts.

Take a look at 7DayShop for good quality replacement's, I got one for my Panasonic for £3.99 plus P+P.

It is every bit as good as the original.;)

I bought a replacement for my Nikon and it was useless -0 only lasted about 10 photos after i had owned for a few months.

But a replacement for my Canon is awesome.

Keen photographer with sales in the UK and abroad.
Willing to offer advice on camera equipment and photography if i can!

I too needed a replacement battery for my Canon, and I bought an Energizer battery from PentUpEnergy at a very reasonable price, and the quality and service are first class.
