Please help!Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
Thankyou for the reply. I have downloaded it but when i click on run cleaner it says that " This process will permanently delete files from your system. Are you sure you wish to proceed?"
I don't want to damage anything?0 -
How are you connecting to the web? ADSL? Cable? Wireless? Try repairing your network connection, next to the clock on your taskbar should be an icon of 2 computer screens, right click on this and select repair.0

in case it's just a setting change use system restore to go back a day or so

Sounds like it may not be internet explorer but possibly your internet connection itself. Do other programs like messenger connect OK ?
If you are running wirelessly try connecting using the ethernet cable and see if that makes a difference and look at the lights on your router and see what they are doing also (even if you are already connected using the cable).
I wouldn't touch any programs at this point AT ALL !You are right to not want to delete anything you don't understand!

OK
Is your computer connected to the router with a cable or are you wireless
Who is your provider and what (general) area are you in (if it's a local problem others using the same provider might have the same issues)
What lights are on/off/flashing on your modem
If you have another browser installed (like netscape or mozilla firefox) do they work ? (Or msn etc)
If you haven't tried it yet-power down your modem for 2 mins and then plug it back in and let the box re-setI Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole

I have tried system restore and restored to 15/04/08 but there is no difference at all.
Apart from IE everything is working normally (as far as i can see  ).
However my computer has been taking a long time to start up ( about 6-7 mins) for the past 2-3 weeks. I have tried to restore to earlier settings (mid-march) but the reply was "computer says no!" :rotfl: .0 -
I would open Internet Explorer then click on Tools, Internet Options, Advanced Tab, then click on reset.0
