Vauxhall petrol cap

Had petrol syphoned out of my Astra (on my drive) which doesn't have a locking cap and wonder if anyone can tell me if it is possible to purchase one.
I could go to the breakers yard but don't expect they'd have a key as well.
Got to add "check the petrol cap locks" to my ever growing checklist of what to confirm before I get my next used car.

Call your nearest Vauxhall dealer - Vauxhall parts are very reasonably priced.

Or go to your local independent car parts retailer and ask them. If they don't have one in stock they can probably get one and a lot cheaper than Vauxhall

Makes absolutely no difference whatsover - they just rive the locking ones off.
  • You could modify the fuel pipe to the tank by inserting a metal screen in there (like a wire gauze). Do a Google for 'anti-siphon'

3 vauxhalls got drained about 2 years ago near me (1 Cavalier and 2 Mk3 Astras), one a family member - they cut fuel lines rather than syphoning, so sometimes making things harder might make it a costlier repair?
