Well been on a fact finding mission today at the 3 pears:D .
They have a nice room upstairs with a balcony for smokers(don't say a a word waspy),no bar so drinks would have to be fetched from downstairs. They are quite happy to close this off for us. It has a function room leading from it and toilets. Holds about 35 people(upstairs room not function room) but will close it off for 20 or more so thats ok.
In regards to food they will serve the party menu/or ordinary menu there. The lady i spoke to also said they will do a buffet for £7 a head and up depending on what we require and are flexible with that menu.
All important Drinks:D Prices look good. Stella £2.65,Carling £2.41 and Blackthorn £2.38. Bottles seem about the norm daughter had a smirnoff ice at £3.00.
Only sticky moment was when she asked what we were:o . I said an internet BOOK CLUB who chat to each other on the internet and had decided to meet up:rotfl: :rotfl:
If anybody has any thoughts on this please feel free to comment.D

That all looks really good.:T
Tough job you had by the sounds of it, finding out all the drink prices:rolleyes: :rotfl:
You should have said 'we are a small financial institution having there AGM'..not a complete lie:DThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -

I am so glad I noticed this thread as I was wondering what this Richard was going to say happened last time at a meet up, one post and I was intrigued.

Well done, dalip, for going on that fact-finding mission - it must have been torture.
I think the buffet is a great idea - we can just have what we want without worrying about the costs, & we won't have to bolt it down because they're waiting to serve the next course. I like the idea of having an area sectioned off for us too - no names, no pack-drill, I presume?
