Rest Assured Pocket Ortho 1200 Memory Foam
Recently bought this. Pocket springs with a layer of memory foam on top. Superbly comfortable and we both suffer with back problems. Bought ours from Hafren Furnishers who had the best price and free delivery anywhere in UK. We've always had Dunlopillo before but this is equally as good.
Only problem is the smell of the foam (well, we presume it was this) took a while to disappear. Suggest having mattress outside in fresh air for it to disperse before sleeping on it.0 -
Thanks, please how much did you pay for it? Have been checking Hafren Furnishers, cannot see any online? Will they take the old bed?0

Sorry Loulou I can't find the invoice. It was during their sale time and they were the same price as the cheapest elsewhere on the net. We used them because we have used them before and are a very reliable, established company and they deliver when they say they will, even carried ours up two flights of stairs.
They did not take the old bed away. We enquired and they said it was not legal for them to carry an old, used bed on the same van as new ones - makes sense I suppose. We just requested a bulky collection from the council.
I would suggest that you go to a bed showroom who sells this if you can, test it out (both of you) to make sure you like it (we all have different ideas of what's comfortable, we like a fairly firm bed) and get a price, then price it on the net, then phone Hafren for their best price - if they don't match the cheapest elsewhere then ask them if they will price match or when their next sale is. Don't forget to take into account someone else's delivery charge though as you will not pay for this with Hafren as long as you live in England or Wales (sorry I said UK before!)
Edited to say theirs is a fairly basic website, gives info on what they sell and brands but you need to ring them with an order or visit their showroom if you live near. They are an excellent company to deal with.0 -
There are loads of pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses on the market, and Rest Assured are far from being the best, so shop around. These are the main things to consider:
- The memory foam should be no less than 2" and no more than 2.5" deep. Less than this and it won't be enough to contour to your body, but more than this and you won't get any extra support, but will sink into the mattress too far and be too hot.
- The ideal density of the mattress should be between 60 and 70kg per m3, although 55 to 80kg is acceptable depending on personal preference. Less than 55kg doesn't really give you very good support, and just reacts more like low density reflex foam. If the density is too high then you will find it very difficult to change position in bed.
- More than 800 pocket springs in a king size mattress is enough to do what pocket springs are designed to do. However if a mattress has too many springs then each spring has to be so small and weak that they get damaged easily. I usually recommend between 1000 and 1800 (2000 as an absolute maximum).
- All mattresses should be turned on a regular basis (especially pocket sprung), so if you can find one then buy a two sided mattress so that it can be turned both over and rotated lengthways. There are two sided pocket sprung/memory foam mattresses on the market, but very few, so you may need to do a bit of searching on line.

Tim I noticed you knows quite a lot on this subject.
Can you please suggest some good mattress please? good value for money.
I noticed that the mattresses Dreams etc sell we don't get online (looks like that manufacture sells the same mattress with different name through other retailers.
I don't really wanna spend more than £600 but will prefer if it is les than £300
Any tip / suggestion welcome

Many of the models available in the big chain stores aren't available elswhere because they are made to the retailers spec. The retailer would like you to think that they are exactly the same as another model that is normally far more expensive, but the truth is that they aren't. Also you will often find that the retailer gives a price promise which gives people the impression that they are cheap. However you won't find the same model anywhere else so they can charge what they want.0
