Photoshop/Photo Editing Help Please?

Not sure if this is quite the right place to ask but here goes.
I have been asked by my aunt if I would be able to try to edit a photo for her.
Her grandmother passed away 2 days ago and she wants to use a small recent photo of her in the order of service booklet, unfortunately there is a shadow in the picture from the camera/phone taking the picture.
I have tried to clear it myself but I am useless at this sort of thing.
Would anyone on here be able to help if I sent them the picture.
Thanks in advance if anyone can help.

I'm a Graphic Designer and use Photoshop on a daily basis as part of my job. Without seeing the pic I couldn't tell you if I could do anything with it, but I'm more than willing to take a look for you.
