Messages, sorting ...

I would like to sort my messages in my inbox into alphabetical order, (they previously were, but just now they all turned into a mish mash...ie not alphabetical, no seeming order of any kind, but don't know how to do it, ? inthe meantime I have pressed 'synchronise all messages' but that did not do it into alphabetical, I don't even know what that has done? Could anybody please help? thank you!

If you're going to keep secret which email client you are using, you will probably just get a lot of guesses...

So here's a first guess: If you are using Outlook or Evolution, then clicking once on the Title (e.g. the word From or Subject) at the top of a given column will sort the messages by that column. Click again and it will sort but in the reverse order. If you then select a message in that column and type a letter, it will seek to the first message starting with that letter.

click on "from" just above the messages, should sort into alphabetical, if z-a, press on 'from' again

Aah! Thank you very much - I have just clicked on the 'from' and then again,and its done it. By the way it is outlook express...

But, please, what would have happened when I pressed 'synchronise messages' then? I'm curious.....I didn't notice what may have changed, if it did....thanks!:D
