HELP with tables in Word please!

Cananyine tell me how to fix the size of a table in Word - so that it doesn't automaticaly expand when I type in it. I need to have 4 tables of the same size on a side of A4 but can't get them to stay a fixed size!
Any advice appreciated!

Right click the Table > Table Properties, then click the Options button, and uncheck "automatically resize to fit contents".

thanks - I've tried that and my table still expands??? What am I doing wrong??

Try setting the preferred width of the table too, so set it to 10cm for examples, then uncheck the 'resize to fit contents' box.

Shoudl work now...:)

Does the table have to be in a Word document ?

I find Excell easier to manipulate in these circumstances.
