Thomas at Drayton Manor

Just wondered if anyone had been to the new Thomas the Tank Engine area at Drayton Manor? What did you think of it? We have a 6 year old who is a Thomas fan but we think the Drayton Manor attraction may be too baby-ish for him. He is used to the Thomas days out on preserved steam railways with proper large steam engines and from the pictures I have seen of the Drayton Manor attraction it seems a little contrived and plastic-y. Given the huge cost of entry into Drayton Manor, and that we don't have any other children so we won't be using the larger rides etc., is it worth it just for Thomas?
