    Hi DaveG247

I tried all this - managed to reverse it, however, when I press play it 'plays' is about half a second!

never used this before, don't know anything about Audacity - can you help?

    Thanks
    GJ

Not sure which type of program you're using to reverse it but if it's a free program it may have a limitation on how much you can play unless you buy the program.

Goldwave does the trick. Free trial version fully functional, limited to 2000 commands but that's plenty to be having some fun with. You can save too and play in another program later.

    http://www.download.com/GoldWave/3000-2170_4-10001099.html?tag=lst-1

    Download Goldwave and install
    Two windows will open.

In main program window click Open and select the track you want to reverse.
Click on Effect, look down to the bottom for Reverse option and click, it will begin to process the file

In the Control window just hit the green Play button and you'll hear it playing correctly.

Once it's fully processed you can save it to play in whatever program you like.

Works for me, have fun. :j

Georgie_lass you're a star! thanks worked perfectly.... now just to figure out how to split the songs!
  • Sadly the album 'elpuoc ddo eht' has no lyrics
I was wondering why they would enable a reverse album to be given for free as it would be easy to reverse...
  • This is an Odd one much like the name of the Album The Odd Couple.

A reverse edition of the album, retitled eploucddoeht, was released on April 17th, 2008. The entire album is fused into one 38 minute, 44 second track played completely in reverse, starting with the album's last song and ending with the album's first. This unorthodox edition was released officially by Danger Mouse and is legally available as a second disc on the vinyl edition or for download free of charge at fronttobackbacktofront.com

    Weird:eek:

    Peace

Is there a way of splitting it into different tracks as well?

Yes! You can do it all in GoldWave. First of all, assuming you want the final files to be in MP3 format as well, you might need the LAME encoder. You can download it for free from http://www.free-codecs.com/Lame_Encoder_download.htm

Open the Zip file and just copy the lame_enc.dll file into your windows/system32 folder

Then in GoldWave (with the file already processed and reversed/put back the right way), click on Tool, Cue Points. Click the Auto Cue... button. The default values seem fine, and find all 13 tracks (12 cue points). It might take a few minutes.

Still within the main Cue Points window, click Split File... Check the location where you want it to save them. The default naming convention of track001 etc. is probably fine. For File format, if you want it in MP3 select the bottom option, Use file's current format and attributes.

It'll take a while to save out all of the MP3s, though. Then you can open them up in Media Player or your preferred music program and edit the track info. From GB's own promo Web site, the tracks are (with the position of the track mark in brackets for those not using GoldWave):
    Charity Case (3.03)
Who's Gonna Save My Soul Now (6.18)
    Going On (9.11)
    Run (11.50)
    Would Be Killer (14.12)
    Open Book (17.30)
    Whatever (19.51)
    Surprise (23.43)
    No Time Soon (26.40)
    She Knows (29.24)
    Blind Mary (32.48)
    Neighbors (35.52)
    A Little Better

    Hope that helps!

    Cheers,
    Steve

Got the file downloaded and playing in itunes, but Goldwave doesn't seem to download on a Mac so can't reverse it! - Any ideas round this?
