Thanks for info. Spent all day looking for adult private swimming lessons without joining a health club/gym. Looking forward to lessons starting next week with Kingfisher Swim School. Having plaster removed before then.

I'm sure that you will do well. Tell them Stephen Lappin recommended you. Both my kids have done fabulously well with them.

Don't forget the [Thanks] button :)
• Have you tried Making Waves? They used to be called Glasgow swim school, but changed their name a wee while ago.
They have a website www.makingwavesswimminglessons.co.uk or number is 01698 825844
My kids had been going to lessons for ages and weren't getting anywhere, but it's been unbelievable how much better they are now.
My son improved more in one lesson than he did in a year at the council scheme.
The teachers are in the water and the classes are alot smaller than the ones at Scotstoun.
Good Luck!

Hi, can anyone recommend a swimming coach in the Glasgow ( South side ) or East Renfrewshire area. Looking for a qualified coach to provide 1 - 1 technique tuition to an adult improver.

2 very good Swimming teachers in Parklands Country Club in Newton Mearns, great with the children. Would def recommend them.

East Renfrewshire council have adult swim classes and you can organise one-to one sessions with instructors. They run at Eastwood high, Eastwood park and Barrhead pools. Phone individual pools for details. They offer good tuition and good rates better than the private gyms.

Hi

I am an adult who finally decided to take swimming lessons... after lots of searching I found (by pure chance) Kingfisher Swim School. After many many "teachers" they are the only ones who finally got me swimming I cannot recommend them highly enough. If you'd like to get in touch with them, contact Russell on 07866 887857 or at enquiries@kingfisherswim.co.uk.

Unlike other "big companies" Kingfisher provides a personal touch.. you're not just another "bum on a seat". They most certainly provide 1-2-1 teaching and don't force you out of the pool once your time is up ! All in all very relaxed sessions - I had quite a fear before I went along but came to enjoy going... mainly due to the way Russell and the others went about their business.

They teach anyone from kids to adults. Russell is a really nice bloke and knows exactly what he is doing... and very very patient.... you'd have to be with me in the pool !
