absolutely nothing to do with house prices - gwyneth dunwoody dies

even as a non-lab supporter, I couldn't help but feel saddened by the passing of gwyneth, lab m.p for many years.

a rare creature in the commons these days (on all sides).outspoken, principled and fearless, with a strong sense of social justice.

I hope brown, cameron and clegg all reflect quietly on the personal qualities this woman possessed and resolve to emulate her.

gwyneth dunwoody. RIP.

because many of the posts on this sub-board routinely slag off the politico's and their involvement in the housing meltdown. some of these criticisms are entirely justified.

I was merely highlghting that there are still a few m.p's who cling on to a set of principles. dunwoody was one of them.

Do you live in Cheshire? I am sure she was an MP for the Crewe area and they named a road after her, Dunwoody Way, ironically where loads of newbuild houses and flats were being built up from the new pizza hut and bowling alley.

Absolutely. Equally non-lab here but you have to admire conviction politicians (eg Gwyneth, Frank Field etc) whoever they be and even though I am far from agreeing with all they say. (Having said that I do agree with plenty they say)
Of course it only increases my dislike of those who profess to be conviction politicians but blatantly change with the wind (eg Tony and Gordon?).

Unfortunately when they go they don't seem to be replaced with an equal calibre.

    If only.

    sorry. nowhere near cheshire.

but you're right with crewe. she rep'd crewe and nantwich. the commons seems to be running out of decent people.

you could've added dennis skinner. or edward leigh. don't agree with either of them re outlook. but you've got to admire their indie attitude.

correct with the observation re calibre. few, if any, own up to being 'non' team players these days. pure cowardice.

anyone reading this under the age of 35 may not be aware that there was once a time when politics was actually interesting. seriously!!!
