Car Key Immobiliser problem

Hi.
I recently went to a company to get my exhaust replaced. I waited 2 hours to get it done and they were so inpatient to get me out of there when the work was done, they mucked up my Key remote access, by switching the key on and off.
This has happened before and a friend found out how to re-set it using the ignition key. I've lost the instruction on how to do it again.
Can anyone help me. Ford want to Charge me £90.00 to do it.
It's a Ford Maverick 2.4 petrol car. I know I put the key in and turn it 6-8 times then press the remote so many times and it re-sets it all. I just can't remember how many times. The only access I have to the car is using the key, there is nothing wrong with the remote, it's just switched off.
