Accepted an offer (very low mind) coz its a first time buyer and agent advised they had agreement in principle for mortgage.
On Monday it will be three weeks since we accepted the offer on Mum's house.
Chased the EA on Wednesday and got the following email response this morning:
I am afraid that I have no more news. The buyers have arranged their own mortgage online without the use of a broker so there really is nobody else that I can chase.
I have been assured that they have paid the valuation fee and have an agreement in principle. Other than that I will have to wait to be contacted by them.
No appointment has been made yet for the survey/valuation. I am feeling very anxious - does it normally take this long? Any advice welcome.

We made an offer on a house on 31st March. Our surveyor is going out early next week. That's just over 3 weeks from the date of our offer. I don't know whether that's quick/slow or just the normal timeframe.0

When I sold my house my buyer had appeared keen (viewed 4-5 times over 4 months) and their house was being sold. I accepted their offer and heard absolutely nothing for weeks. I'd virtually written them off in fact... it was about 5 weeks before I got a call to book the surveyor, and another week before he came round.
After that things moved very quickly.
Beginning to end was 2 months, just nothing happened for 5 weeks at the outset.0 -

I am afraid it can take quite a few weeks but your agenst should be checking out all the details on your behalf. Who is the lender, are they reputable, etc and he should be doing that by phoning them. Tell him to get off his 'wotsit' and call and then update you!!A retired senior partner, in own agency, with 40 years experience in property sales & new build. We accepted an offer on our property in January and it took seven weeks for the valuation to be done, it's been two months since the valuation and they have only just got their mortgage offer!!0
